my search for "God knows what" (perhaps it is truth, or reason, or knowledge) has lead me to Nietzsche.
Dani on cloning: full circle
Submitted by Philip Lowman on Sun, 09/12/2004 - 17:32. Share a Dani MomentThis isn't explicitly a Dani "Moment" but I thought it might be interesting to readers of this site. While I was playing with Google this afternoon in trying to determine which combination of keywords brings Dani's World to the first page I came across a rather interesting essay which appears to have been written by Dani when she was in high school. The essay deals with the ethics of cloning and was apparantly chosen by her as an oral report/presentation during her Junior year of high school. Of interest to readers may be what Dani says in the essay...
where did you go to college?
Submitted by Uncle Lee on Sat, 09/11/2004 - 15:55. In Dani's WordsWhile walking with Dani after lunch today, I asked where she went to college, then suggested she look at her shirt. She looked down at her U of I shirt with the chief on it and answered "Illinois"
Then I asked her what she was studying?
people of Kernan Hospital
Submitted by Uncle Lee on Fri, 09/10/2004 - 07:25. Heroes ... Compassion and then someThere is no order to this list and it will never be complete. Some of you work there and offer kind words and a smile for Dani every day but I don't know your names.
Thank you for being a second family to Dani during this difficult time. Recalling and recording the acts of kindness shown to my niece during her stay there would require a large book. The names below are the ones floating through a mind that daily tries to solve what appears to be unsolvable, drives 180 miles, and then sleeps too little.
Forgive me if your name is not yet here. Your contribution to Dani's current life is invaluable. You know who you are. I speak for Aunt Lesa, Aunt Lollie, and myself. God Bless You All.

what goes on in Brain Injury Units?
Submitted by Uncle Lee on Thu, 09/09/2004 - 09:18. Heroes ... Compassion and then someI have spent many hours inside Kernan Hospital's Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Unit. The first thing one comes to realize is that this isn't the stereotypical model of a hospital we have come to know.
rich is ... important!
Submitted by Uncle Lee on Tue, 09/07/2004 - 21:16. In Dani's WordsDani began her "one day I want to marry" dialog tonight and I stopped her when she started off with "he must be rich".
Uncle Lee: Dani? If you met a smart, handsome man that really loved you, do you think it would be so important that he be rich?
