Dani came to visit our house last weekend. Lee and Lollie drove up on Saturday along with Norman Lee. It was wonderful to see her again and the progress she is making. We have a dog named Maggie and as soon as they came in the house she barked. Dani looked at me and said, "You have a dog? Can I go see her?"

While riding with me in the car, Dani noticed what was left of a road killed deer.

Dani: That's a deer.

Uncle Lee: I think he's in pretty bad shape, don't you?

D: How do you know it's not a she?

May I recommend a movie that came out a few years back called "Places in the Heart". It's a story of tragedy, tenacity, and triumph starring Sally Fields, Danny Glover, and Ed Harris. The setting is deep in south Texas during the height of the great depression.

There is a scene where a bank officer with a strong Texas draw refers to Danny Glover's character as "that neegra Moses".

Dani immediately suggested that he had said a bad word.

When I took the hairbrush from Dani to catch an area in the back she was not getting with the blow dryer, she asked if I was going to make her beautiful.
